I just got my Yamaha DGX-640 in cherry this morning after I placed my order at www.kraftmusic.com exactly 7 days ago. I purchased the "complete home bundle" package that comes with the matching furniture bench, the 3-pedal (LP-7A), Audio Technica noise isolating headphones, Survival Kit, and matching stand. This piano comes with a built-in 6W X 2 amplifiers which is actually pretty loud and clear at its' maximum level. The keys feel very natural like an acoustic grand piano. It has a lot of built-in features and gadgets and I am still in awe just looking at it. I played around a little to get the feel of this awesome keyboard. Although some good friends of mine form the core of the project, the band won't necessarily be the same for every song. We will probably have guests from around the world participating, mostly on vocals though, at our discretion. How does it work? Each guy in the band records their parts (audio tracks and video) at home or at a local studio and sends them to me. I then put the audio together and mix it. This has been a great exercise for me (mixing). I learn the concept behind the sound of my favorite albums and try a whole bunch of cool techniques attempting to replicate it closely. I AB my mix with the original song but don't get too crazy about it. It's difficult to get the sound exactly right due to a number of variables. When I get it close enough I stop comparing the two and just get it to sound good (hopefully) from there. When the final stereo audio track is done I take it to a video editing software and ...
